15th Annual Conference of the Polish Interim Management Association SIM

On March 5, 2026, INIMA was invited to Warsaw where its Polish member organization SIM held its annual conference. Opening the event Jonathan Selby, Chairman of INIMA, and Roman Wendt (SIM) presented the latest interim market survey for, respectively, the INIMA countries and Poland in particular.

Marei Strack (DDIM), Tony Evans (IIM), Francisco Paez (AIME) and Fabio Montefiori(Leading Network) took part in a panel moderated by Stan Wojnicki (SIM) and presented their views on the current interim management market in Europe as well as discussed how interim management develops in the public sector and in family businesses in their respective countries. Francisco Paez (AIME) gave the audience a presentation on the ongoing Spanish initiative aiming at creating regional support for local companies by helping them finance the assistance of interim managers . In this way regional authorities can contribute directly to increasing the competitiveness of the regional economy, and the national interim management association AIME assists in explaining the value of interim management and selecting the participating interim managers.

Other members of INIMA present at the conference were Pavel Paces (CAIM), Krystyna Jouannes (IFMT Alumni) and Frank Sowade (AIM) , who all joined a meeting of the INIMA Board during the day.

The development of interim management in the public sector also had a dedicated all-Polish panel during the conference; the conclusion of both panels is that apart from the UK, where interim management is very active in public institutions, this is a neglected area where bureaucratic and legal obstacles hinder that form of management in Germany, Spain, Italy and Poland alike.

Another important field covered during the conference were family businesses; they are an important pillar of the Polish economy, and one particular aspect discussed was the issue of ensuring a smooth succession process and the role an interim manager can play to facilitate it.

The conference ended by announcing the results of the 2nd Polish Interim Manager of the Year Award – Grzegorz Dziewulski was the laureate, and the assignment he submitted for the Award – as well as those of the two other contenders selected by the jury – will be published in the form of case studies for use in workshops conducted by SIM in Poland.
